Composition

  • The President (Chair)
  • The Vice-Chancellor
  • Two lay members of Council + one alternate
  • One of the Senate members on Council + one alternate (to be nominated by the Senate)

The Chair shall be taken by the President or, in his or her absence or by arrangement, by the Vice-Chancellor. Members shall be appointed for a term of three years.

Terms of Reference

  1. To consider, at the request of Council, matters relating to the appointment of the Vice-Presidents and the Treasurer, and to submit recommendations to the Council for its consideration in accordance with Ordinances 3 and 4.
  2. To make recommendations to the Council regarding the appointment of lay members of Committees.
  3. To make recommendations to the Council for the appointment of representatives on outside bodies.

The Nominations Committee shall have regard for the balance of membership on the Council and the needs of the university, and to this end will take account of the skills and expertise of potential lay members of the Council and its Committees.
