8.
Committees of the Senate
  1. The Senate may appoint Standing or other Committees. The Senate may appoint non-members of the Senate to Committees subject to a proviso that members of Charter Committee, Equal Opportunities Committee and of PARC continue in office only as long as they remain current members of Senate, and may empower a Committee to co-opt members from outside the Senate. Subject to the approval of the Senate, Standing Committees may appoint Sub-Committees.
  2. The Standing Committees of the Senate shall be:
    1. Academic Affairs Committee
    2. Rules and Regulations Committee
    3. Recruitment Committee
    4. Academic Progress Committee
    5. Careers Advisory Board
    6. Student Support Services Committee
    7. Widening Participation Committee
    8. Faculty of Arts Executive
    9. Faculty of Social Sciences
    10. Faculty of Science
    11. School of Welsh Medium Studies
    12. Research Degrees Board
  3. Vacancies on these committees shall be filled by election at the Easter term meeting of the Senate, except in the case of Faculty, Departmental and student representatives, who shall be appointed on the recommendation of the Faculty, the Head of Department, and the Students' Guild respectively. Except in the case of student members, persons elected shall normally hold office for three years.
