Visual Culture of Victorian Physics

Dr. Iwan Rhys Morus has just been awarded funding from the Higher Education Academy’s Philosophical and Religious Studies Subject Group for a 10 month project on ‘Exploring the Visual Culture of Victorian Physics’. Working with See3D at the Aberystwyth University’s Visualization Centre he will be developing and piloting pilot virtual 3D simulations of selected Victorian experimental demonstrations that will allow students to virtually interact with the apparatus and experience the culture and technology of Victorian scientific display for themselves.
