Dr Martyn Powell as General Editor of Eighteenth-Century Ireland

Dr Martyn Powell is the new editor of Eighteenth-Century Ireland /Iris an dá chultúr. He is the first non-Irish editor of this interdisciplinary, dual language (Gaelic and English) journal, founded in 1986. The journal is devoted to the study of Ireland in the eighteenth century and has published articles by some of the most eminent historians and literary critics working in Irish studies, including Seamus Deane, Louis Cullen, Joep Leerssen, James Kelly and Thomas Bartlett. It is published under the auspices of the Eighteenth-Century Ireland Society / Cumann Éire san Ochtú Céad Déag. In 2011 its annual conference will be held in conjunction with the Trim Swift Festival on 1-3 July.
