On Tuesday 9 November 2010 Dr James Cooper met with The Right Honorable Lord Kinnock. The meeting was a welcome opportunity for Dr Cooper to interview the former Labour Leader as part of his research into the relationship between Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan. Dr Cooper and Lord Kinnock also discussed the relationship between the Labour Party and US political figures, particularly those in the Democratic Party. Some of this material will be used in Dr Cooper's forthcoming monograph, 'Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher: A Very Political Special Relationship', and in other research projects about the transatlantic connections in contemporary American and British political history
