Director's Welcome

Welcome to the Human Resources website. I am delighted that you have chosen to visit the site which is intended to be a key communication tool with staff. I would very much welcome comments and suggestions about the site if you feel it could be improved. The site is intended to communicate information and advice to staff about employment matters. You will find information on how to contact members of the HR team should you need further help or advice. The team is based in the Mansion at Gogerddan (Penrhyncoch), and we also have a satellite office in the Cledwyn building should you need to book an appointment to meet with one of the team.

If you are new to the University I am aware that this can be a time when you need additional help and support to assist you to become familiar with the way the University works and we hope that the site will give you access to information you require.

This web site will be used to communicate key events, highlight employment matters, including changes to legislation, and introduce new and changes to existing HR policies and procedure.

You may also be wish to take a look at the Centre for the Development of Staff and Academic Practice (CDSAP) web pages. One of the key University developments relates to Staff Development and Performance Review which provides a framework for you to review your performance and your staff development needs to support. All departments are introducing  a scheme in 2012. Each scheme will be tailored to the needs of department but based on overarching principles to which all staff are entitled:- e.g a meeting between the employee and their line manager to review achievements and set objectives for the forthcioming year.   Graham, Giles or Annette in CDSAP can advise individual's and teams.
