 Aberystwyth University, in its commitment to support employees, has a procedure whereby all vacancies within the University will be open to internal applicants for one week only, in the first instance prior to advertising externally if no suitable candidates meet the criteria.

A package of proposed changes to the USS scheme has been approved by the USS Trustee Board subject to a statutory consultation by USS employers which planned to take place from 20 October 2010 to 22 December 2010. It is anticipated that details of the proposed changes, which, if implemented, are likely to be effective from 1 April 2011, will be available from 20 October 2010 and a copy is available on the USS website https://www.ussconsultation.co.uk/
