Science into Practice

Knowledge exchange

IBERS is committed to innovation and the transfer of knowledge to the land-based industries. At the core of our outreach activities lie our programmes of research, teaching and learning and training provision.

Knowledge exchange is the uniting competence that is central to enhancing the sustainability of our land-based industries.

Research at IBERS creates new knowledge that drives innovation; and innovation provides new solutions via education and training for the benefit of the land-based industries.
IBERS works closely with its diverse stakeholders and users to ensure that IBERS science serves their needs, and to promote technology transfer and knowledge exchange delivering economic and social benefits.

By linking the processes and results of our scientific investigations to the work of social scientists in Aberystwyth and Bangor we are able to inform policy on the rural economy and on rural communities.

By providing high level training for the farming community and the agri-industry we are able to develop the skills base of rural communities and enhance agricultural practice.
