Photoimaging Unit – what do we do?
We provide a highly specialised and comprehensive photographic and image processing service for the Institute encompassing the following areas, Research, Teaching, Marketing and Recruitment, Advertising and Publicity, IBERS website and IBERS Intranet updating.
Below are some examples of our work.
- Producing high quality macro and photomicrography images of experimental work such as cells, microbial colonies, fungi, parasites and aquatic specimens for Research and Teaching staff and for third year project students.
- Studio and location photography using specialised techniques to photograph members of staff, also scientific material such as tomato plants, grasses, clover, fungi, scientific equipment and aquatic specimens.
- Updating and assisting with the development of the Institute website and Intranet. Ensuring that the bilingual content and corporate look of the website is maintained.
- Design and produce laminated posters up to A0 size for conference, open days, UCAS visits, and other marketing purposes.
- Design and produce business cards, letterheads, brochures, invitations, advertisements, and booklets using industry standard software. Contacting A.U. design studio and outside commercial printers and arranging quotations for printing work.
- Photography of high level visitors to the Institute for publicity and marketing purposes.
- Recording digital video, downloading editing and producing DVDs’, multimedia presentations and providing still images for image analysis and slide presentations’.
- Produce PowerPoint presentations for members of staff for teaching, conference and grant proposal purposes.
- Flatbed and 35mm scanning manipulating and resizing images to produce digital files suitable for publication, teaching and research purposes.
- Set-up and check the operation of Audi Visual equipment, and demonstrate it’s use to members of staff.
