HND and Foundation Degree students studying Countryside Management and Conservation at IBERS in Aberystwyth University, have just completed a project to make improvements to footpaths and bridleways within the Trawscoed Estate and adjacent areas.  Over a period of weeks they have repaired fences, constructed and installed gates, and built a brand new nine meter pedestrian bridge over the Nant Cwmnewyddion.  The bridge was constructed using timber converted from the University farm at Trawscoed. These works will improve public access on the estate.

The project was funded by Ceredigion County Council and was made possible thanks to the co-operation of neighbouring landowners, and Trawscoed farm staff.   The first year students are studying to become wardens, rangers and land managers and have completed this practical work as part of their practical skills training.
