Be Part of World Leading Research
The Institute of Biological, Environmental & Rural Sciences offers several options for post-graduate education and hosts a large and vibrant postgraduate community of over 150 students who are viewed as a key component of our international reputation for fundamental and applied research excellence.
The MSc and MRes courses at IBERS are full-time residential and take 1 year to complete.
Whilst both provide students with specialist knowledge and advanced research skills, the MRes is more focused on the research project whilst the MSc courses offer more training in specific subject areas. The distance learning courses in contrast, are not residential and are structured to allow part-time students in full-time employment to advance their careers.
IBERS offers a range of opportunities for PhD/MPhil research or Workplace-based research through our new Distance Learning DAg schemes.
