Taster Day Form
The Institute of Biological, Rural and Environmental Science invite you to our Taster Day on Tuesday 11th July.
The Taster Day will begin with an introduction for all followed by an opportunity to take part in one of six activities, details of which can be found in the form below.
On the day before the 12th July Open Day we are holding a ‘Taster Day’, to give you some experience of what it would be like to be a student at IBERS. There will be opportunities for you to do one of the following activities:
- Explore the Welsh countryside and its wildlife
A field trip to local countryside sites to consider conservation, ecology and land use issues (including a visit to a Red Kite feeding station at Nant-yr-Arian)
- Exploring Cardigan Bay
Take an interactive trip out on one of our research vessels to explore the biology of dolphins, sea birds and marine life.
- Lab to field – understanding animal health
An interactive session, based both in a laboratory setting and on our research yard, to understand animal health from horses to sheep.
The day starts after lunch at 1.00pm. The university is providing accommodation at a reduced rate for the night between the Taster Day and the Open Day. There will also be an evening activity starting at 19.00. This is an optional aspect of the day and will provide the opportunity to meet with other visitors, University staff and student ambassadors, in an informal setting with catering provided.
Please note that bookings for Taster Day Sessions in Developing Agriculture, Sport and Exercise Science in Practice and Painting Chromosomes are now closed.
