Funding

Doctoral Career Development Scholarship (DCDS - Aberystwyth University PhD funding competition).

Aberystwyth University will offer a number of Doctoral Career Development Scholarships (DCDS) to PhD students for 2012 entry worth £17,522 per year for three years. The scholarships will cover Home/EU post-graduate tuition fees and a subsistence allowance of approximately £13,590 per year (2011-12 rates).

Departmental Scholarships (IGES PhD funding competition)

IGES offers scholarships for UK/EU applicants with excellent academic track records wishing to study for a full time PhD in an area that relates to the interests of any one of Institute’s research groups: Glaciology, Quaternary Environmental Change, River Basin Dynamics & Hydrology, Cultural and Historical Geography, New Political Geography.  Applications follow the same procedure as DCDS awards above. Awards can either be fees only or fees and maintenance stipend

Deadline

All PhD applications for IGES-based scholarships beginning September 2013 must be submitted by February 1st 2013. Self-funded applications will be accepted through to the end of July. International students will need to allow more time for visas to be processed (if applicable).
