Aberystwyth Mathematics Club Outreach Activities

Aberystwyth Mathematics Club welcomes visits by schools/colleges, and is equally happy to bring an event to you. A typical programme lasts about two hours (including lunch) and comprises a mixture of taster talks (introducing students to university mathematics), presentations by students on how to use a mathematics degree, and interactive problem solving sessions. See below for a sample programme. People active in the AMC have been involved in a number of Welsh medium events: please see below.

  • "The Maths Club sounds interesting - I'll join in if I'm still studying maths next year"
  • From an email: "My daughter was in the session yesterday, and really enjoyed herself"
