New IMAPS Seminars for the Institute

Following the recent SWOT analysis it emerged that there was substantial enthusiasm for an internal seminar scheme.  Thus, a new double seminar series has been set up within the institute with the aim of allowing institute members to get to know better what other members within the institute do and what their research interests are.

STEREO to give first image of the whole of the Sun

On Sunday 6 February two identical spacecrafts that make up NASA’s STEREO mission will be able to see the whole Sun for the first time, this event will be closely monitored by the Solar System Physics Group led by Dr Andy Breen who study the solar wind and the Sun’s effect on the Earth.
