Research

The focal point of Toms research is the creation of CoDE (Coronal Dynamics Emulator), an algorithm built using smoothed particle approximations of the magnetohydrodynamics equations (SPMHD).  Key to the construction of CoDE is it's eventual simulation of the solar Corona.  It is therefore being constructed so that it can use a range of behavioural conditions (such as solid, periodic and free-surface boundaries) simultaniously and with relative ease.

Biography

Tom studied Physics, for his MPhys Degree, at Aberystwyth '04-'08.  As a PhD student, with the Solar System Physics Research Group in the IMAPs, he is simulating the suns atmosphere (the solar Corona) using an MHD based code.
