Working For Us
Summer Jobs at the International English Centre
Here you will fnd information about Temporary Support Posts, Summer 2011
Summer School
Between June and September the IEC runs an International English Language Summer School. This includes courses in General English, TESOL teacher training, and Pre-Sessional English for Academic Purposes (for students entering Aberystwyth University in September 2011.)
Many of our summer students are aiming to enter this university, as International Foundation Programme students, undergraduates or postgraduates, and the summer is their opportunity to develop their English language skills as rapidly as possible. For other students, the summer programme represents an opportunity to improve their English in the hospitable environment of a coastal university in Wales.
For all students there is a social programme with one half-day and one full-day excursion per week, plus a variety of evening activities
Staff
There is a small team of year-round staff, and a number of temporary staff are appointed for the summer, to work as part of the team. The temporary posts are available from 20th June to 9th September 2011.

SOCIAL ORGANISER
The Social Organiser is responsible to the IEC Administrator and works as part of the Summer School team. The social programme includes a full-day excursion each Saturday and a half-day excursion each Wednesday, plus two evening activities per week.
HALL OFFICERS
International students in the International English Language Summer School are resident in campus accommodation for the duration of their course. The IEC aims to support their welfare needs, and as part of this support it provides two Hall Officers (one male and one female), who are offered free accommodation in Cwrt Mawr throughout the summer period in return for a limited range of pastoral duties with the international students.
