SHINE International Student Awards
The British Council SHINE International Student Awards are now open for entries. Rather than focusing on academic achievements, the SHINE Awards focus on the whole international student ‘experience’.
Do you play an active role in institution life or get involved in your local community, perhaps through volunteering? Has your new life in the UK changed your outlook and the way you think? Have you developed new interests since settling here, overcome personal challenges or achieved any long-held ambitions or goals? If you can answer yes to any of these questions then the British Council would like to hear from you.
Entering couldn't be easier - all you have to do is write a letter home, in English, telling us how you are making the most of your time in the UK. Further details plus the entry form can be found online: www.educationuk.org/shine
This is a fantastic opportunity to further enhance your personal development and stand out from the crowd. The overall winner – the International Student of the Year 2010 – will receive £2000 and a commemorative award, plus 11 regional finalists will receive £1000 each and a commemorative award.
To be eligible, students must be nationals and citizens of a country outside the UK, and ordinarily live outside the UK. Closing date: 18th January 2010.
