Incoming Students

We welcome students from all over the world to Aberystwyth each year, a number of which come to us through our North American, Asian and Australian exchange partners. 

To be eligible to apply, you need to be a a student in one of our partner univeristies that are listed here. For information on our application process, please contact a Study Abroad Officer at your university. All applications will need to be supported by an academic transcript. Once you have been nominated by your home university, you will be provided with our application form. Once complete, this must be submitted to us via your home institution - we will not accept applications directly from students.

Application deadlines for the 2015/16 academic session:

Applications for the 2015/16 academic session (Academic Year and Semester One (Fall)): 3rd April 2015.
Applications for Semester Two (Spring) (January 2016 entry) of the 2015/16 academic session: 9th October 2015.

Application packs are available from your home institution's Study Abroad Office. Please e-mail for further information.

Modules - choosing your courses

Students are advised to take the equivalent of 60 Aberystwyth Credits (30 ECTS) per semester. The following links allow you to navigate to pages describing each module in terms of the content and the number of teaching/contact hours. Final module choices are not confirmed until the time of registration. You need to make sure that you choose modules that are accepted by your University. Full instructions on selecting modules are provided with the application pack.

If you have a specific question about a module you can direct your query to our Departmental Exchange Co-Ordinators. General queries should be directed to the Study Abroad Office.


Aberystwyth University is able to offer a place in University accommodation for full-time Undergraduate and Postgraduate International Exchange students on a first-come-first-served basis.

As soon as your place to study at Aberystwyth University is confirmed you will be contacted  inviting you to apply for accommodation. Please note that a place in University accommodation may be offered, but a specific type of room or location is not gauranteed and Accommodation Licence Periods do apply.

Please note: If you are a second semester incoming student you will be contacted around the end of October with information regarding how to apply for University Accommodation.
