Undergraduate Entry Requirements

Aberystwyth University expects Bruneian students to hold Cambridge GCE A levels with at least 240 UCAS Points. Some courses may require you to have achieved score higher than 240 up to 320 UCAS Tariff Points with A-level in key subject area relevant to course of your choice (minimum grade C).

Postgraduate Entry Requirements

Taught Courses

You will be required to have a relevant bachelor's degree from a recognised institution, with mark of 2.2 for Bachelor's Honours degree/2.1 for Bachelor's Ordinary or above to qualify for Aberystwyth University's postgraduate taught programmes.

Non-graduates with at least 2 years of relevant full-time work experience are welcome to apply for any Masters course. In this instance your application will be judged on an individual basis. They may not however apply for a place on a PGDE course or for a PhD programme.

Postgraduate Research Courses

If you are applying for research programmes from Brunei, you will be required to provide evidence that you have already carried out research, usually via the successful completion of a relevant masters degree.

English Entry Requirements

All non-UK students from countries where English is not the first language are required to show evidence of sufficient knowledge of English - your level of proficiency in English must be proved before you begin your course.  If you have not achieved the required level prior to the receipt of the acceptance for admission, the formal offer will include a condition that you will need to attain essential knowledge before the start of your course.

You will be required to demonstrate English proficiency at the following levels:

  • IELTS - from 6.0 to 7.0

The above requirements are dependent on the department as well as the course of your choice.
