Placements

Students get hands-on experience of political life, assisting MPs or MSs in the House of Commons or in Senedd Cymru – the Welsh Parliament for around 6 weeks.  Open to second year students only.  Contact Employability Officer R. Gerald Hughes for details:

This form should be completed and submitted with the rest of the application, together with a CV, and a one-page summary of why you want to go on the scheme by e-mail to R. Gerald Hughes and Ceuron Bryn Tecwyn by 15 February 2024. If you are selected to go forward for a placement, your CV and personal statement will be sent to potential host MPs/AMs. This application form is for Departmental purposes only. Applicants will be notified if they have been shortlisted by e-mail during the week beginning 26 February 2024. The provisional interview dates for shortlisted candidates will be week beginning 4 March 2024. The successful candidates will then be notified during the week beginning 11 March 2024.

Crisis Games

The crisis simulation games are held every November and students play out a fictional crisis based on topical global events.  For more information contact Dr Chris Phillips.
