Staff reaching the end of their contract
Existing staff approaching the end of a contract or their retirement date, should receive an automated email warning that the IS account is about to expire. A copy of this email will also be sent to the Head of Department (or the designated nominee). Once the contract end date provided by Human Resources is reached, IS systems will automatically lock a user account.
If you believe that your IS account should not be terminated at this time, please observe the following procedures:
- If you believe the contract details are incorrect please contact Human Resources. If they update your contract details before the existing contract ends then your IS account should remain active.
- Staff requiring IS access between periods of
employment or for a limited period after the end of a contract must
complete an IS Access Request Form.
The completed form must be signed by the Head of Department (or designated nominee) and must include an end date for the extension period. Completed forms should be sent to Lending Services in the Hugh Owen Library and must be received in good time for processing if IS access is to remain uninterrupted.
