Student Union Clubs and Societies

Clubs and Societies affiliated to the Student Union can have a computing account for publishing web pages and email.

The account can be managed by any member of the club/society with the permission of the Club President. Whoever registers the account is responsible for that account and anything done with it.

Club and Society computing accounts have:

  • an email address
  • 2 GB of filestore
  • the ability to publish web pages

Applying for a club/society account:

The account will be registered for one year only and must be re-registered at the beginning of each academic year - even if the same user remains responsible for it.

Using a club/society account

  • In using this account you are bound by the Rules and Regulations
  • The registered owner of the account takes responsibility for all use made of it
  • If you need other members of the club/society to have access to the account you must ask Information Services to add their user name's to the account. Only Aberystwyth University staff and students may be given access to this account.
  • If anyone who has access to the account leaves you must change the password ( How do I do that? )
  • The account comes with 2 GB of filestore. You can connect to this filestore from any computer with Internet access.
  • You must check the mail for this account regularly. You can add this account into your email handler, or you can use Aberystwyth University Webmail
  • You can use this account to publish webpages on the University server but you must follow the guidelines

Renewing a club/society account
