Associate Readers

Some members of the public may be entitled to have library borrowing facilities as Associate Readers, provided they fall into certain prescribed categories. Upon payment of a quarterly fee Associate Readers may borrow up to 10 items (standard loan category only) for a period of four weeks. Photocopying and Inter Library Loans are also available but these are subject to additional charges. The following can apply for Associate Reader status:

  • Aberystwyth/Bangor borrowing scheme
  • Bronglais Hospital staff
  • National Library of Wales staff
  • Welsh Books Council staff
  • GO Wales participants
  • Science Park staff
  • CyMAL staff
  • Open University students
  • AU graduates
  • Withdrawn AU students
  • Department of Radnor Educ. Bangor staff
  • Corporate users (eg RCAHMW)
  • Retired staff
  • Visiting scholars/academics

To apply for Associate cards, you are advised to contact the library first before visiting. You should bring a passport photo with you. Open University (OU) students will also need to bring evidence of their course membership and length of study. AU graduates should bring evidence of their year of graduation from AU. Apart from OU students and visiting academics, all associated members must pay a quarterly or annual fee. For more information on fees, please see below or contact us.
