Short Loan Collection

This is kept as a separate collection adjacent to the Hugh Owen Enquiry Desk on Level D of the Hugh Owen Library and consists of books, periodical articles and other material considered to be essential reading for large numbers of students. They may only be borrowed for up to 10 (library) hours; may not be renewed or reserved, and may not be borrowed for the vacations. They are clearly distinguished by the yellow strip on the spine and the yellow date label inside.

All items must be issued before leaving the Short Loan area.

The titles in this collection are liable to change as demand increases or lessens, but all materials currently in the collection are indicated on the catalogue, (Primo), except for a few photocopies which are kept in box files in the Short Loan collection.

 

DVDs are available for a 3 day loan period, they are kept in the Short Loan area on Level D and can be identified by a red strip on the spine.

Sectional libraries also operate Short Loan Collections along similar lines, except that items must be requested at the Issue Counter. Ask for further details.

A fine of 50p per hour will be levied on items returned late
