Office 365 - Email

Office 365 gives access to:

  • a cloud based email client with integrated Calendars and Contacts - you can access your email, calendar and contacts from your computer, the web and mobile device anywhere in the world. 
  • OneDrive with Office Web Apps Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote
  • 1TB Cloud Storage space for your email and documents
  • Multiple Language Support
  • Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Teams and Bookings is free to install on your own computer (How do I do that?)

Security & Reliability

  • Microsoft is committed to complying with all of the relevant data protection, privacy laws and Safe Harbour Legislation, and maintains a data security policy which complies with the ISO/IEC 27000 series of international standards
  • The Joint Information Systems Committee has, on behalf of UK Universities, worked with Microsoft to ensure compliance with all UK legislation across the board and have persuaded Microsoft to contractually agree to long term storage of data within the EU, though not necessarily within the UK.  The University also retains the right to audit the data.

With Office 365 you can:

  • create your own online address book (Webmail)

OneDrive

All AU email accounts come with 1TB of storage for email and files called OneDrive.

OneDrive:

  • stores your files in the cloud so you can access them from any device connected to the Internet via a web browser
  • can be mapped as a drive on your computer
  • includes the Office Web Apps Excel, Word, PowerPoint and OneNote so you can create and edit documents within your browser, recover those you have deleted in error and print directly from your browser
  • share files or folders with other users
