Online Staff Profile System

Introduction

The Online Staff Profile System (OSPS) was launched in August 2016 with the aim of making information about all our staff and their expertise more accessible and discoverable on the web. The system generates staff profiles that are accessible to the public through the central University Directory and staff lists on departmental web pages.

2017 Re-Launch

On 28th November a new version of the Online Staff Profile System (OSPS) will be launched. The existing system will be withdrawn on 23rd November (NB. profile edits will not be possible between 23rd and 28th November). The new system will not introduce dramatic change to staff profile web pages as viewed by the public, but it introduces an improved administrative interface and increased functionality, including the following:

  • Departmental administrator role
  • Group management
  • Improved text formatting
  • Postgraduate Research Student integration
  • Automatically generated Honorary and Emeritus Staff Groups
  • Department specific configuration options
  • Multilingual Media Contactable preferences

FAQs for the new system will be published on 22nd November, and this page will be updated to reflect any further news on the launch.

Support for the Existing System

Until 23rd November staff can update the majority of their own profile information through Aber People, and for research active staff information about publications is updated through Pure.
