External Store

The External Store provides I.S. libraries with an additional 10,000 metres of shelving. It is important to have the ability to make space for new acquisitions in the libraries by removing lesser-used material to the store. However, this material is still important to the teaching and research needs of the University.

Access

Material is accessible by placing a request through Voyager - the Library Catalogue.

Instructions for doing this can be found in our Making Request FAQ. Library Support Services provide a daily retrieval service (Monday to Friday) in term time, and twice a week in vacation.

All store items, including periodicals, can be borrowed for a standard loan period and renewed as normal.

It is also possible to request the permanent or temporary return of an item to the open shelves.
