Document Digitisation
Help improve efficiency and reduce the costs of managing and safeguarding your documents. There really are no limits to the type of records that can be digitised. The largest size we can scan is A3
With our Konica bizhub C550, we can scan your paper documents and save them as a PDF. The files can be printed, emailed to you, copied onto your USB flash drive or burned to CD or DVD.
Copyright
The University is bound by strict regulations concerning the copying of copyright-restricted materials. It is the responsibility of all customers to ensure that all copying they undertake, or ask Media and Sales to undertake - falls within the limits set out in the Copyright Licensing Agreement or visit the Copyright Licensing Agency website
Slide & Negative Scanning
Safeguard your 35 mm slides and negatives by scanning and transferring them to a CD or DVD as a series of jpg files. Many old transparencies become damaged by mould, so it is worth preserving them before they become un-viewable.
Professional or technical slides and negatives can be transferred to a CD or DVD for use for lectures, presentations or talks for your club or society.
Some older card slide mounts suffer from glue failure, we can only scan those that are in a sound mount. Where necessary we will remount in plastic, but there will for a small extra charge.
If you want your pictures to appear on the CD or DVD in a specific order you will need to tell us, and make sure the slides are clearly marked in the correct sequence.
All the images will come to you as .jpg files.
Remember that a digital projector can be used with your PC or laptop, to give a full screen presentation (all equipment is also available for you to borrow from Media and Sales Loan Stock).
It is sometimes impossible for us to tell which is the ‘view side’ of older slides. Please mark each slide on the ‘view from this side’ side. If there is any doubt as to the correct orientation of the picture we suggest you mark with an ‘up arrow’ to indicate the top.

ICE 4 digital dust and scratch removal (Slides Only)
Digital ICE 4 automatically removes surface defects, such as dust and scratches, from a scanned image. Our standard service scans slides in the condition in which they are received, we do not offer any physical cleaning.
Scanning with digital ICE 4 takes much longer and is reflected in the price of this enhanced service.
