Repetitive strain injury loan stock

With the increased use of personal computers, Information Services has become aware of the risks associated with repetitive strain injury, which can give rise to discomfort or pain and in some case can be quite debilitating. There are many possible causes – posture, seating position and so on but quite often a change of the style of the keyboard or mouse can yield significant improvements.
So that computer users can experiment with different mice and keyboards without having to purchase alternative equipment just to see if it gives an improvement, Information Services has purchased a range of devices which a Staff can borrow to see if a change of equipment reduces the discomfort.

Loan period
The RSI loan stock can be borrowed from Media and Sales, free of charge, by Aberystwyth University staff for a period of a fortnight.
Bookings
Requests can be made in advance either in person, by phone or email. All loans will require the borrower to sign our Media Loan Stock Form. On signing, the borrower accepts responsibility for the equipment.
Collection and Return
From Media and Sales, between 9am and 3.30 pm Monday to Friday, except Wednesdays when we are open from 10.00am till 3.30pm.
