AU Book Festival - Monday 5th December 2011

Information Services is excited to host the first AU Book Festival on Monday 5th December. The event includes interviews with academic and local authors, viewings of digital stories made by writers and opportunities to buy some of the books featured. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served.

All are welcome - the event will start at 5:00pm on the ground floor of the Hugh Owen Library.

  • Simon Pierse - Australian Art and Artists in London, 1950 - 1965
  • Elgan Philip Davies – Yr Hen Goleg – with some of the lovely photos from the College archives.

Your opportunity to meet and talk to a variety of authors, to look at their books and to view filmed interviews and digital stories made by some of them.

Digital Stories

Supported by funding from the Welsh Government and CyMAL, Information Services joined with the Aberystwyth Arts Centre to hold a digital storytelling workshop for authors to make digital stories about the process of writing their books. A digital story consists of a recorded narration enriched by a series of images. The digital stories will be shown during the festival.

Short video interviews with several authors have been made and will be shown during the festival.
