EuroFun Day - promoting the European Documentation Centre
Information Services (IS) helped the University celebrate Europe Day 2011 on Thursday 12th May 2011 by promoting the European Documentation Centre (EDC).
The European Documentation Centre at Aberystwyth University (AU) can be found in the Law Library on Level E of the Hugh Owen Library. It can be used by both staff and students of AU and anyone requiring information on the European Union. All materials in the EDC are added to the library catalogue Primo and have the prefix EDC followed by the classmark KW.
IS EuroFun Day activities included
- an EDC-themed stall in the Arts Centre with leaflets, posters and sweets
- an EDC quiz testing people's knowledge of the European Union with 3 x £10 book vouchers for the winners
- a fun QR code trail to the Law Library
- a stall in the EDC with Information Services staff to answer questions
The Hugh Owen Library and Law Library were decked out in EU bunting and balloons.
Finally, here are the prize-winning tie-breakers about Europe!
“Roses are red
violets are blue
I’m studying in the UK
thanks to the EU”
“27 states in the EU
joined together for the benefit of you.
Making Europe a prosperous place,
no discrimination of cultures or race”.
“27 states together
getting on like birds of a feather”
