Scholarships/Funding

The Department is pleased to be able to offer the following scholarships:-

Postgraduate Scholarships

The Department of Law and Criminology have TWO postgraduate scholarships which are offered on a contestable basis per year.   

Scholarships will be availalbe to applicants who will undertake their study on the Master of Law (LL.M), Master of Philosophy (Mphil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes. 

The scholarship is worth £2,000 annually.  This may be used to pay tuition fees.  Scholarships winners registered for a PhD will receive £2,000 annually, subject to satisfactory progress on the programme, for up to three years.  LL.M and Mphil students will receive one year's payment only.

Criteria

All applicants for these scholarships must be able to have demonstrated excellent academic achievement in their undergraduate study, achieving at least an upper second class honours degree of equivalent in their undergraduate degree and enrolling full-time for the first time in the Master of Law (LL.M), Master of Philosophy (Mphil) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes commencing September 2013.

The closing date for these scholarships is 1st June 2013.

  

FEES

The fees for postgraduate students vary according to whether study is full-time or part-time and are subject to change annually. Details of fees can be obtained direct from the Postgraduate Admissions Office.
