We offer a number of different Law and Criminology degrees which all ensure that students acquire a thorough grounding in the fundamental principals and methods. The choices available allow students to select the scheme of study appropriate to their aims and ambitions.
Law Degrees
The Department of Law and Criminology at Aberystwyth seeks to ensure that all students acquire a thorough grounding in the fundamental principles and methods of the law, in legal reasoning and the legal system and its institutions. Within these parameters, we endeavour to give students the maximum choice possible in selecting a scheme of study appropriate to their aims and ambitions. For this reason, we offer a number of different law degrees - the LLB, the BA (Law) and two Law with Languages schemes. There is also a two-year scheme for those who have already graduated in a discipline other than law.

Criminology Degrees
The Criminology Degree schemes offered by the Department of Law and Criminology ensure that students acquire a thorough grounding in the fundamental principles of criminology whilst also permitting them to progress into greater specialisation. Students will study explanations of criminality and victimisation and societal responses to it. Our full and joint criminology degree schemes also give a sound foundation in criminological research skills.
