Llewelyn Rogers

I was 72 when I first took up your Poetry 1 Course in Llanfyllin with Lara Clough.Subsequently, I have continued with a residential Creative Writing Course at Hawarden and  I am now part of your Writing from Nature Course at the Oriel Gallery Newtown.

The courses have  opened my eyes to the possibility that I had more capability  than I  suspected.  Certainly I had never ever dreamt of finding myself published but in this year I have experienced the privilege of having three poems published in the Anthology "Travelling with the Saints", edited by The Revd. Peter Walker in conjunction with the St Asaph Diocesan Year of Pilgrimage and published by Lolfa Press.
I have also seen six poems published in the Anthology  of a Newtown poetry group and entitled  "The Elephant Remembered"  and I have felt able to enter several Poetry competitions.  More importantly than all of that is the entree I have been afforded  to the world of poetry and poets (albeit as an aspirant), affirmed by the  welcome of the Lifelong Learning Department of Aberystwyth  University.
I wanted to be taken seriously;  this was a serious undertaking; I have been taken seriously; and I now have something to my name that is seriously credit worthy and for which I shall always be indebted to Aberystwyth University.
The thought of a second degree in poetry writing has begun to emerge. My education had not stopped and I shall go on making a contribution knowing that I am properly equipped to continue with my development as a writer. I thank you all very much.‌
