Part-time study on the Lifelong Learning programme helped secure Ron Lewis a place on a degree course in Creative Writing and English at University of Wales Trinity St David. Ron, who's 66, spent two years starting to catch up on the university education he skipped as a teenager.
He says, 'I enjoyed a 42-year career as a journalist in newspapers and television but my experience was confined mainly to factual news gathering.
'It's been a delight to let loose my creative side and be set free to write without inhibitions, inspired and cajoled by three exceptional tutors Heather Dyer, Annette Ecuyere and Henrietta Tremlett.
'They provided the grounding I needed for acceptance on a full-time BA course in Lampeter, where I'm looking forward to studying the literature I missed nearly fifty years ago and hoping to gain some of the skills needed by a published author of fiction.'
