The Department of Mathematics is committed to encouraging high-calibre and enthusiastic applicants to pursue studies in Mathematics. The Departmental Scholarship offers students financial support during their study and is a prestigious addition to any student's CV.
To qualify, an applicant must be either in receipt of a University Entrance Scholarship in Mathematics, or achieve grade A* in A level Mathematics. The level of the award is £500 per year for single honours and major-minor students (with the major in mathematics), and £250 per year for joint honours students. The award is automatically given to students meeting the above criteria, and is retained provided an exam average of 70% or above in Mathematics modules is achieved each year.
