Brief description
Following the project dissertation module, PHM5010 and the project planning element of this module, the student carries out a project normally within one of the research groups active in the institute under the supervision of the project supervisor. The results are to be interpreted and discussed in terms of the current knowledge of the research topic, and the work presented both orally and in a formal written report. An intensive residential course, held at Gregynog at the start of the semester, is organised jointly by Physics staff in Aberystwyth and Cardiff forms part of this module. The course includes sessions on planning a project, communication and self management skills and structured group work on presenting and assessing projects.
