Professor John Harries, Chief Scientific Adviser to the Welsh Assembly Government will spend the day at the University today, Tuesday 21st of September.

The Chief Scientific Adviser’s role is to advise the First Minister Carwyn Jones and the Welsh Assembly Government, to promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics and the role of science within the wider knowledge economy.

Professor Noel Lloyd, Vice Chancellor of Aberystwyth University said
“It is a privilege to welcome Professor John Harries here. He will visit four departments during the day to learn more about our student provision as well as the world class research undertaken here in Aberystwyth."

Professor Harries will visit the Department of Computer Science and the Institute of Geography and Earth Sciences in the morning before moving on to the Institute of Mathematics and Physics and the Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences in the afternoon.
