Students discuss contemporary issues

09 August 2013

Three Masters’ students from the International Politics’ Welsh Politics and Society Masters programme will be on the Aberystwyth University stand at the Eisteddfod today to share their research findings and experiences at midday, Friday 9th August.

The projects, funded through the Access to Masters Scheme in cooperation with local businesses – FBA, Golwg360 and UCAC, will touch on current issues which are of importance to Wales.

Osian Elias will discuss pay and conditions within the education system in Wales as well as creating policies across borders (UCAC). Fflur Jones will explore how have efforts to lobby on public policy in Wales developed in the wake of devolution (FBA), and Dafydd Morgan will look at surveys in the media in Wales (Golwg360).

Dr Elin Royles from the Institute of Welsh Politics at the University will chair the discussion.

There will be an opportunity to ask all three questions about their experiences as International Politics Masters students and a chance to enjoy some light refreshments.

Midsummer Reunion
Current students are all invited to pop by the stand on Friday afternoon to meet friends! Catrin Herbert will be performing and light refreshments will be provided.

Mared Ifan, the President of UMCA (the Welsh Students’ Union) will be talking about UMCA’s fortieth birthday celebrations. Prospective students are also welcome to come and meet current students and staff to ask anything you might want to know before arriving at the University in September.
