Fellows 2012

Eight new Fellows were honoured by Aberystwyth University at the 2012 Graduation Ceremonies which took place at the University’s Arts Centre from Tuesday 10 to Friday 13 July.

Sir David Lloyd Jones

Sir David Lloyd Jones, one of the Presiding Judges of Wales, has been honoured as Fellow of Aberystwyth University today, Friday 13 2012.  Sir David enjoyed a distinguished career at Cambridge University before being appointed to the High Court, and has made an immense contribution to the development of Legal Wales and the advancement of Welsh within the legal system.

Caitlin Moran

The award winning novelist and Times columnist Caitlin Moran was honoured as Fellow of Aberystwyth University on Friday 13 July.  Caitlin Moran was presented as Fellow by Rebecca Davies, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Student and Staff Services at Aberystwyth University.

Rev John Gwilym Jones

The former Archdruid of Wales, the Rev John Gwilym Jones, was honoured as Fellow of Aberystwyth University today, Thursday 12 July.
A graduate of Aberystwyth, John Gwilym Jones was presented by Gwerfyl Pierce Jones, Vice-President of Aberystwyth University.

Dr Jan Pinkava

Oscar winning film director and Aberystwyth University graduate, Dr Jan Pinkava, was honoured as Fellow of his alma mater today, Wednesday 11 July. Dr Pinkava, who also completed his PhD at Aberystwyth, was presented by Professor Chris Price from the Department of Computer Science.

Mr Mark Price

Mr Mark Price, Managing Director of Waitrose has been honoured as Fellow of Aberystwyth University. Mr Price was presented by Professor Wayne Powell, Director of the Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences (IBERS) during the graduation ceremony on Wednesday morning 11 July.

Professor Michael Clarke

Professor Michael Clarke, Director of the Royal United Services Institute and a graduate of the Department of International Politics, was honoured as Fellow of Aberystwyth University on Tuesday 10 July.

Michael Sheen and Alex Jones

The actor Michael Sheen OBE and The One Show host Alex Jones were presented as Fellows of Aberystwyth University at the first of this year’s Graduation Ceremonies.
