Anthony Cook is a lecturer specializing in detection of lunar impact flashes and changes. He created a DEM of the Moon that aided the SMART-1 mission to target the correct end-of-mission impact site. As a Lindbergh Fellow at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum he held three NASA PG&G grants for the production of a Planet-Wide topographic map of the Moon, and topographic maps of Mercury from Mariner 10 data. At the Institute for Planetary Exploration, DLR Berlin he developed mapping software for the Mars 98 Mission. Prior to this he was a Postdoc at UCL on stereo matching of Viking Orbiter images of Mars. He has published lunar atlases, and contributed several chapters to books. He is on the IAU Nomenclature Committee for Mercury.
