When should applications be made?
Ideally, for research programmes, applications should be made between November and January. However, Aberystwyth University accepts applications for postgraduate study throughout the year if you are in a position to fund yourself.
If you intend to apply for funding, remember that the Research Councils have deadlines. You need to pay particular attention to these deadlines, as in most cases you need to be holding an offer before you can apply for funding.
NOTE: the deadlines for the Aberystwyth Postgraduate Research Studentships (APRS) and Aberystwyth International Postgraduate Research Studentships (AIPRS) are as follows:
- Department of International Politics: Last working day of January
- Institute of Geography and Earth Sciences – “science” students: 23rd February
- Institute of Geography and Earth Sciences – “arts” students: 1st
- All other departments: First working day of March
