Psychology at Aberystwyth

Established in 2008, Psychology is the most recently established department at Aberystwyth University and has expanded rapidly overseeing 300 students. In September, 2011, the department moved into its new permanent premises in the refurbished Penbryn 5 building, which they share with The School Of Education and Lifelong Learning. All of Psychology's facilities and staff offices are located on the ground and first floor of the building, and all of Psychology's seminar rooms and its computer laboratory are also located in the building.

We offer a single honours psychology degree and a joint honours with Criminology degree, and additional information about each scheme is available in the Undergraduate Courses section. Whichever course you decide is best for you, what will quickly become evident is the invaluable contribution psychology makes to all aspects of everyday life. Psychology graduates are appreciated for their knowledge of human behaviour, their academic skills, such as the ability to provide objective critical analysis, and their valuable research capabilities. We live in a competitive world and employers demand graduates with key transferable skills – studying psychology provides you with the foundation skills necessary for the 21st century job market.
