Information and Library Studies
Our department offers a number of courses and qualifications at postgraduate level within the broad area of information studies. Central to all of these subjects is an interest in how people and information connect. This can range from a child using a library, a doctor working in a hospital, a lawyer researching a case, to a citizen's right to information about their government.
We're sorry but the postgraduate course brochure for information studies is currently unavailable. Please visit the department website or postgraduate course information pages of our website for further information.
You can study also study some information studies courses by distance learning. The Department pursues a student centred, flexible, open learning approach which has proved not only popular with our students, but very successful in managing to make studying at a distance as rewarding and enjoyable as possible. Distance learning students participate in residential study schools and are supported by web-based conferencing facilities which enable them to communicate with each other and the course tutors, easing the feeling of isolation that can sometimes be felt by distance learners.
