Geography

Geography has been taught at Aberystwyth since the late nineteenth century. Today nearly 400 students are reading for BA and BSc degrees in the subject. The Institute offers first-rate facilities to study, with personal attention from staff who have studied Geography all over the world.

The quality of our teaching programme was recognised in 1995 when our degree schemes were awarded the grade of Excellent in the national Teaching Quality and Assessment review. The international and national research reputations of the staff, reflected in their prestigious grade 4A rating in the 2001 Research Assessment Exercise, means undergraduates are taught by academics who are at the forefront of research.
