5.0  Deans' Meetings

The Deans meet regularly with the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Learning and Teaching and with the Dean of Postgraduate Studies, and also with Registry staff. Some of their meetings are informal in nature and involve discussions with key staff of the University such as the Director of Student Support. Other more formal meetings consider: 

• Approval of External Examiner Nominations
• Approval of Higher Degree Extensions
• Issues referred from Academic Affairs Committee

On these issues the Deans report formally to the Faculties, Academic Affairs Committee or the Research Degrees Board, as appropriate.
