10.0 Genetic Manipulation
The Local Genetic Manipulation Safety Committee has the statutory responsibility to assess and approve risk assessments for projects involving genetic manipulation or the use of organisms so modified. The LGSC reports directly to the University Safety Committee and thus is integrated into the University-wide safety and environment management. Details about the committee, including application forms and instructions for obtaining approval for new GM studies are present on the Institute of Biological Sciences web pages.
