5.0  Dealing with Allegations of Misconduct

Scientific Fraud and/or other serious Professional misconduct is contained within the rules governing conduct in employment, as "gross misconduct". The disciplinary procedure is described in the Staff Handbook. The aim of the procedure is to deal with disciplinary matters promptly and fairly by methods acceptable to all parties. At the most serious level a tribunal is appointed by Council to hear the case. The Chair of the Tribunal shall be a person not employed by the University and holding or having held judicial office or be a Barrister or Solicitor of at least ten years standing.

5.1  Public Interest Disclosure

The Staff handbook section on 'Other Employment Policies and Procedures' describes the University's policy on public interest disclosure (whistleblowing).
