Contract and Collaborative Research

The Department of Research, Business & Innovation supports staff in delivering Collaborative and Contract Research projects involving Aberystwyth University expertise and / or facilities with industry or other partners.

The benefits of working with external partners collaberatively or under contract include:

  • Funding for research
  • Impacts for the economy and society
  • Increased Innovation
  • Inputs into teaching and learning
  • Student recruitment

The RB&I team are experienced in networking with business partners in order to develop the best possible relationship and projects of mutual interest.  RB&I work to maximise academic benefits by finding the right contacts and working with you on appropriate project plans and costings.

Negotiation does not stop at financial matters; RB&I will ensure that mechanisms are in place to protect Intellectual Property, publishing opportunities and use of any material developed for teaching and research.

RB&I ensures that any financial or other liabilities are minimised and takes care of legal requirements where required.

To develop a project with an external partner please follow this internal Contract Research Process
